[PC] Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes - Fightcade Online Setup Guide

This guide explains how to configure Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes for online multiplayer using Fightcade.

Fightcade is an online retro-gaming platform that combines matchmaking with several emulators. For supported Dreamcast/NAOMI games, Fightcade includes the Flycast-Dojo emulator.

What You Will Need

ΓÇó Fightcade
ΓÇó A Fightcade account
ΓÇó Compatible Marvel vs. Capcom 2 game files
ΓÇó Any additional system/BIOS files required by the emulator
ΓÇó A stable internet connection

Important Game File / ROM Notice

Fightcade does not include game ROMs, and SGAWeb does not host, distribute, or provide download links to copyrighted game ROMs, disc images, BIOS files, or other copyrighted game files.

This guide assumes that you have obtained the required files through a lawful source.

The instructions below cover only Fightcade/Flycast configuration and online multiplayer.

Step 1 - Download Fightcade

Download Fightcade from the official website:

Fightcade - Official Website

Install Fightcade in a folder of your choice.

Fightcade includes several emulators. Its Flycast component is based on Flycast-Dojo and is used for supported Dreamcast/NAOMI games.

Step 2 - Create or Sign In to Your Fightcade Account

Launch Fightcade.

If you do not already have an account, register through the Fightcade application.

Sign in after your account has been created.

Step 3 - Open the Fightcade ROM Folder

From Fightcade's top menu, select:

ROMs -> Open ROMs Folder

Fightcade will open the location used for its supported game files.

Place your legally obtained compatible files in the appropriate location required by Fightcade/Flycast.

SGAWeb does not provide these files.

Step 4 - Find Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Return to Fightcade and select the Add Game Channel option.

Search for:

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

Join the appropriate Fightcade game channel.

Step 5 - Test the Game

Before attempting an online match, use Fightcade's:

Test Game

option from the game channel.

Confirm that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 launches correctly.

If the game does not launch, check that your game and any required system files are compatible with the version of Flycast supplied with Fightcade.

Step 6 - Configure Your Controls

Launch the game and configure your controller or other preferred input device through the Flycast emulator settings.

Verify your controls before attempting an online match.

Step 7 - Play Online

Return to the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Fightcade channel.

Find another available player and send that player a Challenge.

Once the other player accepts, Fightcade will launch the appropriate emulator for both players and establish the online session.

For the best experience, choose players with a good connection indicator and use a wired network connection whenever possible.

Troubleshooting

If Marvel vs. Capcom 2 does not start:

ΓÇó Verify that your game files are compatible with Fightcade's current emulator configuration.
ΓÇó Verify that any required system/BIOS files are installed correctly.
ΓÇó Test the game before attempting an online challenge.
ΓÇó Check that your firewall or antivirus software is not preventing Fightcade from communicating over the network.

Because Fightcade and its bundled emulators can be updated, consult the official Fightcade documentation if the application's menus or requirements differ from those described in this guide.
